About the Subject
- Noble Doss, a University of Texas football star from 1939-41 still holds the career interception record for the Longhorns with 17, a mark that was later tied by Nathan Vasher. Doss is most remembered, though, for The Catch, a miraculous grab against then undefeated Texas A&M that set up the only touchdown in a 7-0 upset in 1940. Doss later played in the NFL for two years with Philadelphia
- This image is based on a photo of Doss making that 32-yard reception is one of the most famous in Longhorn history, in part because Doss appears to have his eyes closed as he makes the over-the-shoulder grab
