About the Subject

DAVE PARKS. Abilene HS grad. All-SWC WR at Texas Tech in 1962 & 1963. First Red Raider to be named 1st team All-American. Set Tech career records for career (80), and single season receptions (32), single-game receptions (8) & single-game receiving yards (132). 1st overall pick of the 1964 NFL Draft by the SF 49ers. Played 10 NFL seasons at TE with SF (1964-67), New Orleans (1968-72), Houston (1973). Made All-Pro Rookie team in 1964. All-Pro 1965 & 1966. Selected to three Pro Bowls. College Football HOF in 2009
