About

Tino Martinez, for whom the Division II Player of the Year award is named, played for the University of Tampa (1986 – 1988) and won a gold medal at the 1988 Summer Olympics in Seoul, South Korea. He played first-base in the Major Leagues from 1990 – 2005. Martinez was inducted into the National College Baseball Hall of Fame in 2013
